Counter summaries
The Deer
The main predator circling your fire. Keep the campfire bright and walls intact, and never wander off alone at night. Deep dive: How to Beat The Deer.
Cultists
Attack the camp in groups on a timer. Fight them through traps and fortifications — trading blows in the open gets expensive.
The Owl
Walls won’t stop it. It messes with your light sources — stay in bright zones and keep looking up during watch.
Ram
Charges straight at wooden defenses. Pre-reinforce weak fence sections before it picks a lane.
Wolves
Dangerous away from the fire and lethal to solo explorers. Travel in pairs and fight them one at a time.
Bear
Do not engage early. With weak gear, use terrain and traps to kite it; a full squad with top weapons is the minimum for a fair fight.
Bats
Low individual threat but they swarm cave biomes at night. Bring a light source and don’t corner yourself underground.
Night-by-night schedule
A full spawn timetable (which night each entity first appears and how spawns scale) ships as part of the Forest Rage hard mode research. Early rule of thumb: the Owl and Ram show up after night 5; the Bear stays late-game.
