This is the route most new squads follow to get through the first 10 nights without wiping. Build by day, guard the fire by night.

Days 1–2 · Get established

  • Spend daylight chopping wood and gathering food to keep hunger up.
  • Craft a basic axe and spear.
  • At night: stay glued to the campfire. Never overextend in the dark.

Days 3–4 · Scale up

  • Once wood is stockpiled, push crafting bench upgrades first — they unlock better tools and recipes.
  • Faster tools compound every resource run afterwards.

Days 5–6 · Core priority

  • The campfire is your lifeline — level it whenever possible.
  • Level 2 campfire also unlocks the fishing chat code (yay fishing → 2 Gems).
  • Build shelves and crates, create a food buffer so nobody starves mid-siege.

Days 7–8 · Defenses

  • Night threats ramp up here.
  • Ring the campfire with walls, line attack paths with traps.
  • Split the night watch — one player guards while the other restocks.

Days 9–10 · Expand

  • With the base stable, explore systematically — food, weapons and light.
  • Mark clues toward the missing children to set up rescue runs and late-game content.

The exact day thresholds shift with squad size — bigger groups can push phases faster; solo players should extend the “Core” phase by a day or two.
