Fishing & Animal Taming in 99 Nights in the Forest

Fishing is the most famous side activity in 99 Nights in the Forest — because it hides a working chat code. Taming is the animal companion system that helps gatherers and scouts.

Fishing — unlock and use

1. Upgrade your Campfire to level 2.
2. Craft/obtain the fishing rod.
3. Go to a fishing spot and cast the rod into the water.
4. Wait for the bite, then reel in.

The yay fishing chat code

While the rod is in the water at a fishing spot, press / to open chat and type:

yay fishing

The game spawns 2 Gems instantly. The space between the words is required, and the rod must be in the water.

What fishing gives you

Animal taming — how it works

Taming lets you befriend animals that then help around the base. The taming loop (framework):
